In the output stage, we use 56 pieces of 15A 200W high-speed, ultra-low distortion bipolar transistors. In a large power amplifier like this, the input stage is particularly susceptible to electrical interference that distorts the music signal. One annoying type of distortion is higher-order harmonic distortion. This is a type of distortion that is far from the original music frequencies and often makes the amplifier sound harsh and unmusical. In the input stage of the H30A, this distortion has been eliminated by using only a single pair of FET transistors. These are carefully hand-matched transistors that have exactly the same values and therefore produce no higher-order distortion. Other types of distortion are eliminated with Hegel’s patented SoundEngine technology. This actively monitors the music signal for interference and corrects distortion using a feed-forward design. The SoundEngine effectively eliminates distortion in real-time as the signal is amplified. These measures ensure that the H30A sounds very smooth and natural, without compromising on details.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe H30A is designed as a mono power amplifier but can also be used as a stereo power amplifier. It has balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs, as well as a 12V trigger input. For the best possible connection, the H30A has high-quality, gold-plated speaker terminals.
