With the P30A, Hegel has \napplied all its capabilities to achieve exactly that.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFirst, matched-pair FET transistors \nare used that have no higher-order harmonic distortion. \nWithin each batch of transistors, there will always be slight measurement deviations. \nThis may be within what is considered normal deviation, \nbut for sensitive electronics like this, it is simply not good enough. \nThat's why Hegel's founder and chief engineer Bent measures the transistors \nto ensure they have exactly the same values. Perfectly matched \ntransistors are of utmost importance for the performance of the preamplifier and \nensure that the P30A sounds very smooth and natural without \ncompromising on detail. In addition, the internal layout \nis designed so that the signal paths within the preamplifier are as short as \npossible. This reduces the possibility of distortion from electrical \ninterference. To further reduce distortion, \nthe number of electrical components the signal passes through is also minimized. In \nthe P30A, the music signal passes through only two transistors and an extremely \nlow-noise volume attenuator. The P30A also uses Hegel's patented \nSoundEngine technology. This actively monitors the music signal for \ndisturbances and corrects intermodulation distortion through a \nfeed-forward design. The SoundEngine eliminates distortion in real-time \nwhile the signal is being amplified.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAll these steps result in a \n preamplifier that is very quiet and treats the delicate low-amplitude music signal \nas gently as possible. Nevertheless, signal distortion can still occur, \nbut the P30A has another feature that prevents this. The P30A is fully \nbalanced throughout. This means you have two separate amplifiers, \nvolume controls, and SoundEngine modules per channel. It has 2 balanced (XLR) and 3 unbalanced \n(RCA) inputs, as well as a fixed-level home theater input that allows \nintegration into a home theater system. On the other side, there is one balanced (XLR) \nand two unbalanced (RCA) variable outputs, all of which are active, \nallowing you to connect multiple devices simultaneously.
