The matt shimmering diaphragms of the woofers and mid-woofers have a low intrinsic weight and operate without sound-damaging partial oscillations throughout their entire usable and transmission range. The technical improvements were achieved through an elaborate chemical process in which the previously used titanium drivers are transformed – both visually and technically. In the mid-range, a midrange driver of the same size operates in its own volume, also benefiting from the excellent sound and material properties of our titanium graphite diaphragms. The suspension in the wave surrounds, capable of maximum excursions, ensures high power handling and provides excellent dynamics in the low and mid-range. In addition, the light and stiff diaphragms follow acoustic signals quickly and precisely. Our high-quality tweeter with a 25 mm aluminum oxide ceramic diaphragm stands out as particularly accurate, brilliant, and detailed. But at Canton, cabinets must also meet the high technical requirements of the developers – after all, a pretty exterior alone does not make good sound. The solid cabinet, constructed from multi-layer laminate, the modified cabinet radii, and the slightly altered dimensions compared to its predecessor create the best acoustic conditions for a precise sound image. This provides increased internal volume, allowing the 3-way center to be tuned with more bandwidth in the bass. Furthermore, the new design minimizes sound impairments from the cabinet itself.
