The Bowers & Wilkins HTM81 D5 is the powerful center speaker of the 800 Series Diamond 5 and is particularly well suited for combination with the 801 D5 or 802 D5. In home theater, the center channel plays a central role and ensures that movies appear with more depth, clarity, and life.

Technologies from the 800 Series Diamond 5

The HTM81 D5 utilizes core technologies from Bowers & Wilkins' flagship products. These include the Diamond dome tweeter, the Tweeter-on-Top design with a solid housing, a decoupled Continuum diaphragm FST midrange driver, and two Aerofoil bass diaphragms.

3-way setup with passive operation

The HTM81 D5 is designed as a 3-way bass-reflex system. Treble, mid-range, and bass are thus distributed to specialized drivers. The speaker operates passively and therefore requires a suitable amplifier. We recommend a minimum amplifier power of 50 W at 8 ohms to avoid distortion (clipping).

Recommended room size

The center is designed for medium to large rooms. We recommend a room size of at least 25 to a maximum of 60 square meters. This ensures that the center does not boom and provides the intended depth staging.

Placement and finishes

For seamless installation, a suitable stand is optionally available. Alternatively, the center can also be placed freely on a lowboard or in a shelf. Rubber feet are included for this placement to prevent abrasion on the housing. Stealth Black and Warm White finishes are available.
