The Canton Movie 400 is a 5.1 complete system for movies, music and gaming. The set includes:

Coordinated Speaker Set for Movies, Music and Gaming

The Canton Movie 400 speakers are matched to each other. This ensures a cohesive interaction of the individual channels and makes the set versatile – from movie nights to music playback to gaming. The center speaker takes the central position at the front, while the satellites are used for front and surround channels.

Active Subwoofer for the Bass Foundation

The active subwoofer complements the speaker set with a powerful bass foundation. It is acoustically matched to the overall system and supports the Movie 400 where movie effects, music, and games require more low-frequency content. The bass level can be adjusted on the subwoofer, allowing the system to be better adapted to the room and listening preferences.

Flexible Placement in the Living Room

Our recommendation: The center speaker should be placed close to the TV screen, i.e. under or above the TV. The subwoofer can generally be placed freely in the room; an ideal position is between the two front speakers. Appropriate wall mounts for the surround speakers are included. Alternatively, the speakers can be placed on the separately available LS 40 speaker stands.

Operating Options

The subwoofer offers practical operating and adjustment options directly on the device. These include an on/off switch, operating indicator, automatic switch-on, volume adjustment, and setting of the upper transmission frequency. The Amplifier Mode allows selection between automatic switch-on with an incoming music signal and continuous operation. Low-level and high-level inputs are available for connection; these must not be used simultaneously.

Connection and Setup

Depending on the amplifier or AV receiver, the subwoofer can be controlled via pre-out, mono subwoofer output, or speaker outputs. The satellites are connected via speaker cables. For a harmonious result, the speaker setup should be adapted to the room and the surround amplifier used. Difference to the Canton Movie 200 Set

Compared to the Canton Movie 200, the Canton Movie 400 is the larger solution within the Movie series. Both sets are designed as 5.1 home cinema systems with four satellites, one center, an active subwoofer, and wall mounts. The main difference lies in the satellites and the center: With the Movie 400, the front and surround speakers measure 11 × 29 × 12 cm, and the center 29 × 11 × 12 cm. With the Movie 200, the front and surround speakers are more compact at 9 × 12 × 11 cm and the center at 20 × 9 × 11 cm. Technically, the Movie 400 also stands out with its satellites and center: The transmission range starts at 90 Hz instead of 120 Hz, the crossover frequency is 3,500 Hz instead of 4,500 Hz, and the efficiency is 86 dB instead of 85 dB.

The Movie 200 is a good fit if a particularly compact surround set is desired. The Movie 400 is the more suitable choice if front, surround, and center speakers can be larger and the extended transmission range of the satellites is a priority.

Manufacturer's Warranty

Canton offers a 5-year warranty on passive speakers and a 2-year warranty on active subwoofers and partially active boxes, exceeding the legally required warranty. The warranty period begins with the purchase and applies only to the original purchaser. A warranty claim is only valid when using the original packaging. Transport damage and damage due to improper use are excluded. The claim is not extended by the replacement of components within the warranty period. In the event of damage, processing is to be done through us as an authorized Canton specialist dealer or directly through Canton Service.
