• Dolby Atmos and Object Tracking Sound: The 2.1.2-channel system with 60 watts of output power combines multidimensional sound with playback tailored to the action on screen.

OLED picture for movies, series, and sports

On the OLED panel, each pixel generates its own light. This allows bright and dark areas of the picture to be displayed directly next to each other without the need for a separate backlight. OLED HDR+ expands the adjustment of brightness and contrast, while Ultra Viewing Angle supports a consistent picture from different viewing positions.

For the most faithful reproduction, Filmmaker Mode and Pantone-certified color representation are available, among other features. The anti-reflective coating helps reduce distracting reflections in ambient light.

AI processor and 4K upscaling

The Neural Quantum 4K AI Gen3 processor uses AI-powered processing to adapt the picture and sound to the content and viewing situation. 4K AI Upscaling Pro prepares lower-resolution sources for display on the 4K panel. The result always depends on the quality and format of the source material.

Gaming with up to 144 Hz

The TV supports 4K signals with up to 144 Hz through all four HDMI inputs. Motion Xcelerator 144 Hz, Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and NVIDIA G-SYNC are designed for compatible PCs and consoles. The Gaming Hub brings together cloud gaming platforms, console inputs, and game apps within the Tizen interface.

Dolby Atmos, OTS, and Q-Symphony

The integrated 2.1.2-channel speaker system delivers 60 watts. Dolby Atmos creates a spatial sound experience, while Object Tracking Sound aligns the sound with movements on screen. Active Voice Amplifier Pro supports speech clarity. With a compatible Samsung soundbar, Q-Symphony allows the TV speakers and soundbar to play together; the soundbar is sold separately.

Smart TV with Tizen and SmartThings

The Tizen smart TV system serves as a central interface for streaming, TV, apps, and gaming. Samsung TV Plus, a web browser, and the Gaming Hub are integrated. The built-in SmartThings Hub allows compatible smart home devices to be connected. A Samsung account, an internet connection, or paid subscriptions may be required for individual services, apps, and connected features.

Connections and TV reception

Four HDMI inputs, two USB-A ports, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and an optical digital output make it easy to connect consoles, media players, sound systems, and network services. HDMI eARC transmits compatible audio formats to a connected sound system. For TV reception, a twin tuner for DVB-T2/C/S2, CI+ 1.4, and HbbTV are available.

LaserSlim design and setup

The LaserSlim design combines a slim profile with a virtually bezel-less construction on all four sides. Without the stand, the TV measures 1,225.4 × 708.6 × 39.9 mm and weighs 14.6 kg. With the stand, the dimensions are 1,225.4 × 773.6 × 265.2 mm and the weight is 15.9 kg. For wall mounting, the VESA standard is 300 × 200 mm; a suitable wall mount must be selected separately.

Ideal for

• Movie and series fans looking for the deep blacks and precise contrast of an OLED panel.
• Gaming setups with compatible PCs or consoles and refresh rates of up to 144 Hz.
• Living rooms where streaming, traditional TV reception, and smart home features are to be combined in one device.
• Users of compatible Samsung soundbars who want to use Q-Symphony.

Important notes before purchase

• The maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz requires a compatible source, suitable content, and a suitable HDMI connection.
• 4K AI Upscaling does not create native 4K content; the result depends on the quality of the source.
• Streaming, cloud gaming, and smart TV services may require an account, an internet connection, or a separate subscription.
• The soundbar, wall mount, consoles, and other media players are not included with the TV.
• The energy efficiency class is G.

Conclusion

The Samsung GQ55S93FAE is a versatile OLED TV for home cinema, sports, and demanding gaming. Its strengths lie in its high-contrast 4K OLED picture, AI-powered picture processing, support for up to 144 Hz, and the broad integration of streaming, TV, and smart home features.
