sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim Signature: Compact speakers for wall-adjacent music listening

The sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim Signature are passive two-way bass-reflex compact speakers for small and medium-sized rooms. They complement a suitable HiFi amplifier and are specifically designed for wall-adjacent placement. This makes it possible to set up a stereo system even where there is little space for free-standing speakers.

The special features of the sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim Signature at a glance

• Spatial reproduction: AMT tweeters, an angled baffle, and a carefully tuned crossover support precise imaging and clear vocal presence.
• Damped construction: Double-layered cabinet walls counteract unwanted vibrations.
• Suitable for living spaces: The bass tuning takes wall proximity into account.
• Understated design: Matte surfaces, aluminum details, and magnetic fabric covers blend into the living space.

Locating instruments and voices with the sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim Signature

With a familiar recording, not only the melody should be recognizable, but also the position of the musicians. The rear-angled baffle, the offset tweeter, and the carefully tuned crossover support a precise soundstage with centered vocal reproduction.

The Air Motion Transformer is housed in a waveguide that supports even dispersion. For the mid-bass, a paper-bamboo composite diaphragm with Kevlar reinforcement is used. The model was tuned in collaboration with Karl-Heinz Fink.

Reduced cabinet vibrations in the sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim Signature

The front consists of two HDF layers, while the remaining walls consist of two MDF layers. In between is a permanently elastic special adhesive: The damped composite converts vibrational energy into heat and reduces the transmission of vibrations.

Only the side cabinet walls run parallel. This shape additionally counteracts standing waves and cabinet resonances, rather than supporting the sound solely through a larger cabinet volume.

Placement and connection of the sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim Signature

The speakers can be placed as a stereo pair on suitable speaker stands or on a stable surface. They are also specifically tuned for wall-adjacent placement. This makes them suitable for placement on a shelf or near a wall, where they can develop their full bass reproduction. The actual soundstage depends on the room acoustics and the respective placement.

Connection to the amplifier is made via speaker cables and screw terminals. The amplifier must be suitable for the load impedance; sonoro recommends an amplifier output of at least 50 W. No built-in amplifier or music source is included.

Design of the sonoro ORCHESTRA Slim Signature

The hand-sanded wooden cabinet features a matte finish and rounded corners. The drivers are flush-mounted without visible screws. The fabric covers can be easily removed and reattached thanks to their magnetic fastening.
