With its two 6"/152 mm C-CAM RST III woofers, the 3"/76 mm C-CAM RST III midrange driver and the 25 mm C-CAM Gold tweeter with UD Waveguide II, the Silver 300 8G impressively demonstrates the potential packed into a slim floorstanding speaker. In the treble, it plays up to 35 kHz, while in the bass, it extends down to 30 Hertz (-6 dB). At the heart of it all is C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) – a diaphragm technology developed by Monitor Audio that is used in almost all of the British brand's speaker series.

The Silver 300 8G is the smaller of the two floorstanding speakers in the Silver 8G series and impresses with its elegant, almost understated design on the one hand and its musicality, authority and structure in the sound on the other. This makes it suitable both as a stylish stereo speaker and as front speakers in a home cinema.

Its balanced and harmonious phase response, and especially the flatter waveguide in front of the tweeter, create a very large soundstage and excellent spatial presentation, which comes to excellent effect with all types of music, but also with films. And thanks to its 116-decibel maximum level, it also performs excellently in larger rooms of up to around 40 square metres.

Completely redesigned C-CAM Gold tweeter and RST III diaphragm - The best Silver series ever!

In the Silver 8G series, the new 25 mm C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) Gold tweeter with improved ventilation and cooling is used, ensuring that the treble always remains clean and precise even at high levels. In addition, the redesigned, flatter UD (Uniform Dispersion) Waveguide II, with its flatter profile compared to the previous series, provides a more natural, wider and larger soundstage presentation, bringing the listener even closer to the original.

In the bass and midrange, the new RST (Rigid Surface Technology) III diaphragm operates with a new, progressive, even stiffer centre spider for greater precision and an optimised surround, for an even more harmonious sound and less distortion across all frequencies. Furthermore, due to the 3-way design, the midrange driver of the Silver 300 8G operates completely on its own. In addition, the midrange driver is further isolated from the woofer by its own enclosure, allowing the midrange and vocal range to be reproduced even more finely, dynamically and naturally.

The newly designed feet compared to the previous series are also a small highlight! As before, rubber rings for decoupling and protecting sensitive hard floors such as laminate or parquet, as well as spikes for carpet, are integrated directly. However, these are now covered from above by a removable metal disc, allowing the feet and spikes to be adjusted directly in height without having to tilt the speaker as before. A small but clever detail that makes the Silver 8G series so special.

With its minimum impedance of 3.9 ohms (at 3 kilohertz), the Silver 300 8G is an absolutely easy load for any amplifier. Its sensitivity of 88 decibels (measured at 2.83 volts at a distance of one metre) also makes it an enjoyable partner for any amplifier, even if it outclasses less powerful models. The amplifier should be able to deliver at least 100 watts continuously and stably, while up to 400 watts is ideal to get the best out of it.
