Description
Cambridge Audio Spira: Turntable for Your Existing System
The Cambridge Audio Spira is a manual turntable with an integrated phono preamplifier. It prepares the phono signal for connection to a standard audio input, so your amplifier or active speakers do not need their own phono input.
Cambridge Audio Spira Features at a Glance
- Playback: Belt drive and electronic speed switching for LPs and singles.
- Cartridge: Pre-installed Audio-Technica system with options for later replacement.
- Connection: Switchable phono stage and Bluetooth transmitter for different systems.
- Design: Five colors and a removable dust cover.
Playing Records with the Cambridge Audio Spira
Select an LP, lower the tonearm by hand, and let the music play: the Spira is deliberately a manually operated turntable. You can change the speed using the rotary switch without having to move the drive belt.
The construction includes a heavy steel platter with a sub-platter, a felt mat, and an MDF plinth. Rubber feet provide decoupling from the surface.
Cartridge and Upgrade Options on the Cambridge Audio Spira
The Audio-Technica AT3600L is already mounted and aligned. The straight aluminum tonearm features a removable headshell, making it easy to replace the cartridge later.
The elliptical 3600LE stylus is available as a separate alternative. Tracking force and anti-skating can be adjusted and must be set correctly before the first playback.
Connecting Your System and Headphones to the Cambridge Audio Spira
The Spira can be connected to an amplifier or active speakers via RCA. The integrated phono stage works with a standard line input; it is bypassed when using an MM phono input or an external phono stage.
Anyone who wants to listen without speakers in the evening can pair the Bluetooth transmitter with compatible Bluetooth headphones. It can also transmit to a Bluetooth speaker. However, the Spira cannot receive music from a smartphone.
Colors and Protection for the Cambridge Audio Spira
Black and white are visually understated, while blue, green, and orange add a splash of color. The finishes are coordinated with the colors of the Cambridge Audio L/R active speakers. We recommend these speakers for use with the turntable. They must be purchased separately, as they are not included in the standard delivery.
The included dust cover is removable.
