Easy Streaming Without a Special Control App

No special control app or technical expertise is required for operation. Music can be streamed directly from a smartphone or tablet to the DS200, with playback occurring through the existing home audio system. A remote control is also included.

Use Streaming Services Directly from Familiar Apps

Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect including Spotify Lossless, and TIDAL Connect including TIDAL Max are supported. This maintains operation within familiar music apps; the mobile device acts as a remote control for volume, track selection, and other playback functions.

Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth, and Google Cast for Flexible Use

Additionally, the DS200 supports Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth, and Google Cast. This makes the streaming DAC practical even for households where multiple people use different devices or preferred streaming methods.

Stable Connection via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Ethernet

Two Wi-Fi antennas, one Bluetooth antenna, and an Ethernet port cover wireless and wired connections. For voice control, the DS200 is compatible with Google Assistant, provided a compatible Google Assistant device is used on the same network.

Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC, aptX HD, and aptX Low Latency

For Bluetooth streaming, the DS200 uses Bluetooth 5.0, AAC, Qualcomm aptX HD and Qualcomm aptX Low Latency. aptX HD is designed for hi-res audio playback; aptX Low Latency improves transmission speed to keep audio and video better synchronized with compatible media.

32-Bit DAC for Digital Music Conversion

Digital-to-analog conversion is handled by a quad-balanced 8-channel 32-bit DAC. It converts digital music signals into an analog signal that can then be played back by a preamplifier, integrated amplifier, power amplifier, and speakers.

Roon Ready and Roon Tested

The DS200 can be used as a Roon Ready Endpoint. Additionally, it is Roon Tested, which is designed for easy setup and daily use with Roon.

Eight Digital Inputs for Streamers, TV, CD Players, and Other Sources

In addition to streaming, the McIntosh DS200 offers eight digital audio inputs. These include coaxial, optical, USB, MCT, AES/EBU, and HDMI ARC connections, allowing digital sources such as CD players, tuners, computers, or a compatible TV to be integrated.

Fixed or Variable Output Level

The DS200 has balanced and unbalanced analog outputs. In fixed output mode, a preamplifier, integrated amplifier, or other device handles volume control; in variable mode, the DS200 can be connected directly to a power amplifier in a purely digital system.

The DS200 features typical McIntosh characteristics such as a black glass front panel, rotary knobs, an illuminated logo, and precisely fitting aluminum end caps.
