Hamburg, September 2021: Technics today introduces the new SL-1210G Direct Drive Turntable. The new SL-1210G model adopts all the proven and mature technical specifications of the SL-1200G, adding another future classic to Technics' turntable portfolio.
"We learned from the great success of the Limited Edition SL-1210GAE, which was launched in June 2020 and sold out almost immediately," says Frank Balzuweit, Product Manager Technics Europe. "There is high market demand for a 'standard' black version of our top-of-the-line 1200 series model. In addition to its technologically groundbreaking construction, this elegant classic impresses with excellent build quality that meets even the highest demands. A high-quality black finish lends the new SL-1210G an impressive aura of true elegance."

- Hybrid speed control with Hall sensor precisely controls the rotor position and ensures perfect rotational stability for optimal sound reproduction
- Highly sensitive yet robust tonearm made of cold-drawn magnesium with high internal damping. Extremely precisely manufactured tonearm bearings with milled bearing housings offer absolutely sensitive movement to accurately capture even the finest musical signals in the record groove
- Three-layer platter construction with effective damping of sound-disturbing vibrations supports distortion-free playback of the record. Each individual platter is also meticulously balanced at the factory
- Four-layer cabinet: An extremely torsion-resistant construction with a particularly heavy aluminum top plate and highly damping silicone layers for effective suppression of resonances provide the best conditions for captivating, unadulterated playback of the finest details of every record

Black version of the world-renowned, direct drive high-end turntable SL-1200G The SL-1210G features a newly developed coreless direct drive motor that prevents cogging. The twin-rotor construction reduces the load on the motor bearing while maintaining high torque. In addition, minimal rotational vibrations are reduced. These properties allow the warm, exceptionally detailed sound of an analog record to unfold. The tonearm is made of lightweight magnesium with a high damping effect.
