OVATION SD Streaming DAC – an entirely new device category: The SD models define a completely new category of streaming-capable components. By combining an analog preamplifier with two high-level line inputs, a D/A converter with DSD, a streaming client with prepared access to the HiFi streaming service TIDAL Connect, internet radio, and a high-quality headphone amplifier in a single device, we also refer to our new additions as SD (short for Streaming & DAC).
The two close relatives, the SD 6.3 and SD 8.3, differ only in one small but crucial detail: The SD 6.3 is based on high-quality and pure transistor technology in all amplification stages, while the OVATION tube stage of the SD 8.3 conjures up a pleasant, warm, and natural sound. Both are housed in the widely proven OVATION Line chassis size, as corresponds to, for example, the modular preamplifier PA 8.2.
