The brand-new "Townus" loudspeaker series is aimed at everyone who values timeless design and high-quality appearance. The new loudspeaker models were given the name Townus, which sounds similar to the roots and location of Canton's company headquarters, in the middle of the Hessian Taunus. The newly created Townus series impresses with its timeless, elegant design and high-quality materials – ideal for urban people who value design and quality. The word creation Townus also refers to the connection between the modern and vibrant life in a city (English: town) and the rather quiet and rural Taunus, where the creators of this timeless and modern loudspeaker series have their origins.

The Townus 90 - Perfectly formed

The 3-way floor-standing Townus 90 loudspeakers impress with their understated, elegantly designed cabinets and noble surfaces, exuding timeless elegance. Harmonious proportions, rounded cabinet edges and the screw-less integration of the drivers into the slim baffle make the Townus 90 a jewel in any living environment. The rounded cabinet edges not only give the Townus 90 an elegant look – they also improve the sound dispersion of the loudspeakers. Flawless surfaces in satin matte or high-gloss lacquers as well as noble real wood veneers with a perfect finish underline the premium claim of the new Townus loudspeaker series. Further optical highlights are the high-quality aluminum rings of the loudspeaker chassis, which are manufactured using the seamless diamond cut process, and the fabric grilles rounded at the corners, which adhere magnetically to the baffles. Finally, the elegant wooden base with four metal feet serves as a solid foundation for the slim floor-standing loudspeakers. Hidden from the listener's view, the large bass reflex channel in the cabinet base extends the frequency response downwards. Thanks to the down-firing arrangement of the bass reflex port, the room is acoustically stimulated evenly – precise, deep-reaching bass without booming is the desired result.

Design and Technology

The solidly constructed cabinets of the three-way floor-standing Townus 90 loudspeakers are internally braced multiple times and equipped with high-quality internal wiring. Strategically placed damping material within the cabinets and selected crossover components of the highest quality optimize the sound of the approximately 24 kg loudspeakers. The four drivers in the slim Townus 90 loudspeakers, which provide the renowned good Canton sound, are state-of-the-art. Three 174 mm drivers, with titanium membranes, enable dynamic bass and detailed, powerful mids. Thanks to the bass drivers with stiff and low-distortion double-cone membranes and wave surround technology, the Townus 90 play precisely and serenely even at high sound levels. In combination with our patented DC technology, the 174 mm bass duo in the down-firing bass reflex enclosure reproduces powerful and precise bass without the membranes of the bass loudspeakers uncontrollably deflecting at low frequencies. The proven 25 mm aluminum oxide ceramic tweeter dome shines with its detailed and accurate sound image. A precisely calculated waveguide for ideal sound dispersion and coupling optimizes the reproduction of the loudspeaker, up to 40,000 Hertz.
