The AT-OC9XML is part of the latest generation of the legendary OC9 series, combining state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies with decades of experience in developing high-end cartridges.
Its core is a naked Microlinear stylus, which engages with the groove significantly deeper and more precisely compared to elliptical or bonded styli. The result: an extended high-frequency spectrum, extremely low distortion, and outstanding detail. Especially in the critical inner groove area, the Microlinear profile shows its strengths, ensuring particularly even and distortion-free playback. At the same time, this cut protects both the stylus and the record from excessive wear.
The boron cantilever (Ø 0.28 mm) offers optimal impulse response due to its extreme stiffness, ensuring direct, dynamic sound reproduction. This is complemented by a neodymium magnet and a Permendur yoke, which together provide particularly high magnetic energy and thus maximum efficiency.
The aluminum body suppresses unwanted resonances, supporting clean, clear audio reproduction. Additionally, high-purity PCOCC coil wire is used, which ensures lossless signal transmission and thus maximum transparency in the sound image.
The AT-OC9XML also impresses in practice: thanks to integrated threaded holes, it can be quickly and easily attached to a headshell or integrated tonearm – without additional nuts.
