With the AT-VM530xEN, Audio-Technica expands its premium MM product line with a model that meets the highest sonic demands. Like all cartridges in the VMx series, this one is also closely based on the structure of a cutting head for producing vinyl master records. Two precisely arranged magnets reflect the left and right channels of the record groove – for excellent channel separation, balanced sound, and extended frequency response.

The elliptical, nude diamond stylus (0.3 × 0.7 mil) reduces the mass of the vibration system, allowing it to trace the groove even more precisely. The result is a clear, unadulterated sound with minimal distortion – perfect for audiophile listening rooms and precise music reproduction.

Inside, the para-toroidal generator works, with two coils arranged one behind the other per channel providing optimized electromagnetic efficiency. The coils made of PCUHD® copper (Pure Copper Ultra High Drawability) consist of high-purity, highly ductile copper wire – this guarantees transparent, three-dimensional sound reproduction with excellent impulse response. A central shielding plate reduces crosstalk and creates a clean, open stereo image.

The robust, low-resonance polymer housing provides stability, while the hollow aluminum cantilever minimizes unwanted vibrations. The integrated threaded inserts facilitate mounting with just two screws – ideal for modern tonearms. In addition, the V-shaped cutout in the stylus guard offers a clear view of the stylus and allows precise placement on the record.

Like all models in the VMx series, the AT-VM530xEN is also compatible with almost all replacement styli in the series, allowing sound character and performance to be flexibly adjusted at any time.
