Individually Adjustable Phono Preamplifier for MM & MC

The Black Cube SE II consistently builds on the successful circuitry of the Black Cube SE and expands it with even more practical utility and convenience. Thanks to a maximum gain of 66 dB, virtually all common MM and MC cartridges can be operated – from high-output MM to demanding MC systems. Per channel, a solder-free slot for a selectable impedance and an additional hard-wire slot are available for precise adjustment. Upon request (by phone or email), suitable resistors for your system will be included free of charge.

Audiophile RIAA Design for Maximum Fidelity

The highly precise, passive RIAA filter network is – as with the large Lehmann phono stages – placed between two linear amplification stages and works with pulse-resistant polypropylene film capacitors of tight tolerance. This preserves impulses, dynamics, and timbre without distortion. Latest-generation professional input stages ensure particularly low-noise, powerful reproduction, while additional components in the audio section effectively suppress hum, HF, and noise voltages. The double-sided audio board allows for optimized trace routing and thus particularly interference-free operation.

16-Way Configurable Bass Filter for Perfect Deep Bass

A major highlight of the Black Cube SE II is the extensively configurable bass filter with 16 different settings between 7 Hz and approx. 90 Hz. This allows the bass response to be optimally adapted to the room, speakers, turntable, and personal preferences – from maximum deep bass extension to targeted suppression of rumble and problematic room modes. This way, you always maintain precise, controlled, and musical bass.

Powerful External PWX Power Supply

For power supply, a heavily over-dimensioned, external power supply with a custom-made toroidal transformer and static shield is used. The connection between the audio section and the PWX is made via a shielded cable with gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors – mechanically robust and sonically stable. By externally locating the transformer, the sensitive phono signal is reliably protected from interference.

Resonance-Optimized Aluminum Casing with Faceplate

Both the audio section and the power supply are made of non-magnetic aluminum and are mechanically damped in the lid. In contrast to the "cube classic," the Black Cube SE II presents itself with a representative casing including a faceplate and integrates optically high-quality into demanding HiFi racks. The device is available with faceplates in aluminum silver, aluminum black, or chrome – easily combinable with other Lehmann components.
