Description
The DA-07X inherits the slender format of the DA-06, a successful standalone DAC model launched in 2013. This model, however, is equipped with state-of-the-art digital processing capabilities adopted from our recent flagship SACD/CD player, the D-10X. The DAC main board uses the same high-quality BD34301EKV DAC chips from the ROHM “MUS-IC” series found in our D-10X and D-07X players, also in a dual-mono configuration. Via a proprietary USB input, the unit offers a powerful, high-resolution digital signal processing environment supporting encoding rates of up to 768 kHz/32-bit for PCM signals and 22.5 MHz for DSD data, as well as comprehensive decoder functionality with full support for advanced MQA encoding.
The analogue output section employs fully balanced current/voltage conversion routines that process the differential outputs of each DAC chip independently and operate in dual-mono mode, as well as high-quality, discrete buffer circuits that also serve as the LPF stage and powerfully drive next-stage components. This combination ensures wonderfully smooth and dynamic sound.
The exterior combines a finely crafted, blasted white front panel with a large status window featuring a new high-resolution OLED display, creating an appealing and precise user interface.
The D-07X rises to the challenge of being a next-generation D/A converter with USB connectivity, offering an inspiring digital audio playback experience. By employing state-of-the-art digital processing technology, this model can handle a variety of digital inputs and provides a carefully crafted analogue output circuit, assigning it a central role in forward-looking audio systems. It fits perfectly with advanced, modern listening styles, not only as a component in conventional or complex Hi-Fi systems but also in combination with a network transport unit like our NT-07X or simply via a headphone amplifier like the P-750u MKll.
