All-in-One Network Player for Modern Hi-Fi Setups

The DMP-A8 bundles music streaming, file player, DAC, and preamplifier in one device. Local high-resolution music can be managed and played, and integrated music services and streaming functions are also available.

Streaming Ecosystem and Network Functions

It supports Tidal, Qobuz, Highresaudio, Deezer, and Amazon Music, as well as streaming/push services like Tidal Connect, WebDAV, UPnP, and DLNA. Connectivity options include Ethernet (Gigabit) and dual-band WiFi (2.4G/5G).

High-Res DAC with Flagship Converters and Precision Clocks

The decoding uses an XMOS XU316 audio processor with AK4191EQ + AK4499EX, supporting stereo DSD512 Native and PCM 768 kHz/32 Bit. The concept is complemented by two femtosecond-accurate precision clocks (45.1584 MHz and 49.152 MHz) and a dual power supply design consisting of linear and switching power supplies.

Fully Balanced Preamp for Flexible Combinations

As a preamplifier, the DMP-A8 offers balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs. A fully balanced preamp function with +10 dB analog gain and an R2R analog volume network is integrated. This allows the DMP-A8 to connect directly to active speakers or power amplifiers, as well as classic Hi-Fi sources via analog inputs.

Extensive Connectivity for TV, Players, and External DACs

In addition to network and streaming operation, many sources can be integrated: HDMI ARC for TV/projector, optical and coaxial digital inputs, USB-B Audio In, and Bluetooth (including aptX HD and LDAC). As a digital transport, HDMI IIS, USB Audio Out, and optical/coaxial outputs are available.

DSP for Sound Tuning and Room/Setup Adaptation

An integrated DSP module supports 10-band PEQ and separate FIR filters for left and right channels; configurations can be saved per input. Additionally, parametric EQ, high/low pass, loudness, dynamic compressor, and channel delay are provided.

Operation with 6" Touchscreen, App, and Remote Control

A 6.0" LCD touchscreen serves as the central control; app control for Android/iPhone/iPad and a remote control are also provided. Wake-on-LAN (WOL) is available (condition: wired network and same LAN).

CD Playback and Ripping via USB CD-ROM

With a connected USB CD-ROM, CD playback and CD ripping are possible; storage is in WAV or FLAC format.
