McIntosh MA352 Integrated Amplifier for 2-Channel HiFi

The McIntosh MA352 is a 2-channel integrated amplifier with a hybrid design. The preamplifier uses two 12AX7A and two 12AT7 vacuum tubes, while the power amplifier is a direct-coupled solid-state amplifier. This combination combines a tube preamplifier with a powerful transistor power amplifier.

Variety of Analog Connections Including MM Phono

For source devices, there are 2 balanced inputs, 3 unbalanced inputs, and 1 Moving Magnet phono input with adjustable load. This allows for connecting devices such as CD players, tuners, media streamers, and a turntable with an MM cartridge. Additionally, there are 2 subwoofer outputs and a 1/4" headphone output with High Drive and Headphone Crossfeed Director HXD®.

Tone Control and Operation

The 5-band analog tone control allows for adjustments at 30 Hz, 125 Hz, 500 Hz, 2,000 Hz, and 10,000 Hz by ±12 dB each. The front display shows the source, volume, and setup functions. Operation is via the front controls or the included HR085 remote control.

Power Guard® monitors the output signal and reduces clipping. Sentry Monitor™ protects the output stage without a fuse and automatically resets once safe operating conditions are achieved.

Integration into HiFi and Home Theater Systems

The MA352 is designed for high-quality 2-channel audio systems and can also be integrated into a home theater or multi-channel system via Home Theater Pass Through. Power Control can send on/off commands to connected McIntosh components. Data Ports allow control of connected McIntosh source devices via the remote control.

Placement and Ventilation

The MA352 is designed for upright placement on a table or shelf. For adequate ventilation, at least 15.3 cm above, 1.6 cm below, and 5.1 cm to the sides should be left clear. For air circulation and cable connections, a depth of 55.9 cm is recommended. We advise against placing it directly above heat-generating devices.

Craftsmanship and Design

The device sits on a polished stainless steel chassis. Side aluminum nameplates in classic McIntosh style, blue output meters, illuminated logo, black glass front with direct LED backlighting, and visible tubes characterize its appearance. The McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ are connected to high-current output transistors.
