ELAC Varro DS1000 as Dual Reference Active Subwoofer

The ELAC Varro DS1000 is a sealed active subwoofer of the Dual Reference Series. It is designed for deep, controlled bass reproduction in HiFi and home cinema setups and tuned for demanding movies or music. Even a single subwoofer fills medium to large rooms with bass.

Two 250mm woofers with controlled excursion

Characteristic for the DS1000 are two 250mm woofers with HEX Surround and Paper/Aluminum cones. The dual-woofer construction with oppositely mounted drivers increases sound pressure and at the same time reduces cabinet vibrations. The combination of sandwich cone and large voice coil is designed for high power handling, good thermal management and deep bass .

App control, Auto EQ and flexible placement

A central feature of the ELAC Varro DS1000 is app control via Sub Control 3.0 for iOS and Android. The app supports Auto Room EQ via the smartphone microphone, facilitates room correction and allows simultaneous control of multiple subwoofers. This expands the possibilities for placement and simplifies adaptation to different rooms.

Wireless Ready for multiple subwoofers

The DS1000 has an integrated wireless receiver and is prepared for the optional AirX2 transmitter. This allows up to three subwoofers to be connected wirelessly. In conjunction with the app control, the subwoofer is thus designed for setups in which multiple subwoofers are to be used together and controlled centrally.

BASH amplifier, DSP and low-resonance cabinet construction

The subwoofer operates with BASH amplifier technology and DSP-based signal processing for precise and low-latency processing of the audio signal. The cabinet is acoustically designed, internally damped and braced to reduce unwanted resonances. Together with the sealed design, this supports clean and controlled bass.

Connections for different systems

RCA line inputs, balanced inputs, speaker inputs, 12-volt triggers, USB for firmware updates and Ethernet for control are available for integration into various systems. This allows the ELAC Varro DS1000 to be integrated into classic HiFi systems as well as into more extensively networked setups.
