Uncompromising Complete - the Plug & Play entry into True Balanced!
The Pro-Ject X2 brought the high standards expected of a high-end turntable within an achievable price range. The joy of fine details, workmanship, and high-quality materials has remained the same with the X2 B: The satin acrylic platter, three exclusive lacquer finishes, and the silky matt waxed walnut veneer underscore its elegant appearance.
The X2 B, with its pre-mounted and adjusted Ortofon MC Quintet Red MC cartridge, enables a decisive improvement in sound quality: It represents the entry into the True-Balanced connection variant in the Pro-Ject portfolio. In conjunction with a symmetrical cable, which keeps the four signal-carrying wires and the shielding consistently separated, and a suitable phono preamplifier, every vinyl lover benefits from fully symmetrical signal transmission, higher signal-to-noise ratio, and crystal-clear vinyl sound.
The electronic speed selection provides comfort when switching between 33 and 45 RPM.
More mass in chassis, platter and tonearm
The heavy, dense and stiff MDF chassis reduces unwanted resonances to almost immeasurable values. Inside is a sophisticated DC/AC motor control, which, in combination with the electronic speed switching, provides clean and stable energy to the motor system.
The conical tonearm tube of the slightly longer tonearm of the X2 B has a larger diameter and is made of a carbon fiber/aluminum composite material with optimal damping values. Thus, it exhibits high rigidity and an impressive lack of resonance. The high-quality tonearm bearings compensate for the higher mass of the arm and allow movement of the arm tube with almost no mechanical hindrance. The wiring is consistently symmetrical with complete separation of signal-carrying conductors and shielding.
