Mass-loaded platter with magnetic-supported precision bearing

The X8 adopts core technologies from Pro-Ject's renowned Xtension series – but at a significantly lower price point.
The more than five-kilogram aluminium platter is precision-machined and internally damped with TPE. The result is an impressively resonance-free construction.

The inverted platter bearing with ceramic running surfaces ensures precise guidance, while magnetic support from neodymium magnets relieves the bearing. Friction decreases, and running smoothness increases – audibly with every playback.

The integrated motor control allows electronic switching between 33 and 45 rpm, while the external power supply keeps electrical interference away.

Stably decoupled: MDF chassis & TPE-damped aluminium feet

The massive chassis made of compressed MDF stands on three TPE-damped, aluminium-turned feet that are height-adjustable. This keeps the player perfectly level and reliably decoupled from the surface – important for smooth running and clean sound reproduction.

Pro-Ject 9cc Evolution – Carbon tonearm at a high-end level

The X8 is equipped with the 9cc Evolution – a precisely manufactured carbon tonearm that is also used in higher classes.

Thanks to its excellent guidance and low inherent noise, the tonearm is ideal for high-quality MC cartridges – especially in the True-Balanced configuration.

True-Balanced – for significantly more dynamics & less noise

With an MC cartridge and the appropriate XLR tonearm cable, the X8 becomes a fully balanced, interference-resistant vinyl front-end.
This improves:

• bass precision
