Perfectly damped platter for maximum smoothness
The X8 combines the advantages of classic mass-loaded turntables with the precise control of a sub-chassis concept.
The 5.1 kg aluminum platter is internally dampened by a TPE damping ring and runs on a particularly quiet, inverted platter bearing with a ceramic bushing.
Magnetic support relieves the bearing of a large portion of the weight – friction decreases, and smoothness increases.
The integrated motor control allows for electronic switching between 33 and 45 RPM, while the external power supply reduces electrical and mechanical interference.
Stable MDF chassis & vibration-decoupled aluminum feet
The massive chassis of the X8 is made of compressed MDF and rests on TPE-damped, height-adjustable aluminum feet.
This allows the turntable to adapt precisely to the surface and remain reliably decoupled from the room – a crucial foundation for clean, quiet sound without disruptive resonances.
Pro-Ject 9cc Evolution – High-end tonearm made of carbon fiber
The X8 SuperPack is equipped with the 9cc Evolution – one of Pro-Ject's most renowned tonearms.
Its construction combines low weight with high rigidity:
- Single piece of carbon fiber for tonearm tube & headshell
- Azimuth and VTA adjustment for precise fine-tuning
- Inverted tonearm bearing with ABEC-7 ball bearings
- 5-pin tonearm standard socket for individual phono cables
- True-Balanced capable with optional 5P-XLR cable
The included Ortofon MC Quintet Blue cartridge complements the arm perfectly and provides a ready-to-play, high-quality combination right out of the box.

With a suitable balanced phono cable and a True-Balanced phono preamplifier, you gain:
