Compact speaker for smaller listening areas
The Bowers & Wilkins 805 D5 is the most compact model in the 800 Series Diamond 5 and is particularly suitable for smaller listening areas. Its space-saving format makes it interesting when high-quality music reproduction is desired without placing large floor-standing speakers in the room.
2-way bass reflex system with passive operation
The 805 D5 is a 2-way bass reflex system. An amplifier is required for operation; the recommended amplifier power is 50 W to 120 W at 8 ohms. This means the 805 D5 should be planned as a passive speaker.
Diamond tweeter and Tweeter-on-Top
The diamond dome tweeter sits in a fixed Tweeter-on-Top design with a solid enclosure. This construction stands for clarity, precision, and an open sense of space. Voices and instruments are reproduced in detail by the Continuum™ cone of the woofer/midrange driver.
Suitable for small rooms
The 805 D5 is ideally designed for rooms up to 30 square meters. In larger rooms, there is a risk that the low-frequency sound loses substance and the depth of staging loses precision.
Enclosure shape with a clear acoustic goal
The reverse-wrap enclosure follows a continuous curve and is stabilized by a solid aluminum back. This design reduces reflections in the enclosure. Together with Matrix™ and Flowport™, the 805 D5 is designed for clean, spatial, and controlled reproduction.
Placement and suitable stands
The 805 D5 sounds best on its custom-made speaker stands "FS-805". Alternatively, the speaker can also be placed on a lowboard or on a shelf. With its weight of 16.4 kg per piece, the placement is very flexible.
Finishes
The 805 D5 is available in Stealth Black, Warm White, Light Walnut, and Dark Walnut. The grille colors are Black for Stealth Black and Dark Walnut, and Grey for Warm White and Light Walnut.
