Description
McIntosh MA7200 Integrated Amplifier – the central component for high-quality stereo systems
The McIntosh MA7200 is a 2-channel integrated amplifier that combines many functions of a modern hi-fi system in one device. It serves as a central hub for classic analog sources, digital players, turntables, and TV sound via HDMI ARC. This creates a tidy system where music sources can be comfortably integrated and controlled.
Extensive Connectivity for Analog and Digital Sources
The MA7200 offers a wide selection of analog and digital inputs. These include unbalanced and balanced connections, separate phono inputs for Moving Coil and Moving Magnet cartridges, as well as digital inputs for coaxial, optical, USB, MCT, and HDMI ARC connections. This equipment makes the amplifier particularly attractive for systems where classic hi-fi sources and modern digital players are used together.
DA2 Digital Audio Module for Modern Music Playback
The integrated DA2 Digital Audio Module handles digital signal processing in the McIntosh MA7200. It operates with a digital-to-analog converter in quad-balanced mode and supports high-resolution digital music files. The module is designed to be replaceable with future modules, which can be purchased optionally from us.
Phono Inputs for Moving Coil and Moving Magnet
For vinyl listeners, the MA7200 is equipped with two phono preamplifiers: one for Moving Coil and one for Moving Magnet cartridges. The Moving Coil input has adjustable load impedance, while the Moving Magnet input has a fixed load impedance.
Technologies in the McIntosh MA7200
The McIntosh MA7200 incorporates core McIntosh technologies such as Autoformers™, Power Guard®, Sentry Monitor™, Monogrammed Heatsinks™, Home Theater PassThru, High Drive Headphone Amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director HXD®, and Power Control. Additionally, it features bass and treble control, Tone Bypass, individually nameable inputs, digital audio processing via the DA2 Digital Audio Module, HDMI ARC, USB Audio, MCT input, coaxial and optical digital inputs, and Phono MM and Phono MC.
Convenient Operation and System Integration
All inputs can be given custom names, making daily operation clearer. The data ports and the included remote control allow for controlling compatible McIntosh source devices. Power Control and trigger outputs support the integration of additional components, while Home Theater PassThru can integrate the MA7200 into a multi-channel or home theater system.
Headphone Operation with HXD®
The MA7200 features a High Drive Headphone Amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director HXD®. This function is intended for headphone listening and extends the amplifier's use beyond traditional loudspeaker operation.
Classic McIntosh Appearance
Visually, the MA7200 is clearly recognizable as a McIntosh: blue power meters, black glass front panel, aluminum end caps, control knobs, and an illuminated logo define its appearance. The Monogrammed Heatsinks™ feature the McIntosh "Mc" logo and are part of both the technical and design concept.
