McIntosh MAC7200 2-Channel Integrated Amplifier-Receiver – Classic Stereo Center
The McIntosh MAC7200 is a solid-state stereo integrated amplifier-receiver for high-quality 2-channel audio systems. It combines a flexible preamplifier section, a powerful amplifier section, an integrated AM/FM tuner, and modern digital inputs in one device.
For Analog and Digital Music Sources
The MAC7200 treats classic Hi-Fi sources as seriously as digital players. Balanced and unbalanced connections, digital inputs, USB, MCT, and HDMI ARC allow for the creation of a versatile system. All inputs can be individually named, which makes day-to-day operation clearer.
Integrated AM/FM Tuner
The built-in AM/FM tuner is one of the defining features of the MAC7200. Dedicated PRESET and TUNING controls facilitate direct access to radio stations. For FM, the receiver supports RDS, so additional information such as station name, artist, or title can be displayed depending on the station.
Digital Playback with DA2 Digital Audio Module
The DA2 Digital Audio Module expands the MAC7200 with a modern digital audio platform. At its heart is an 8-channel DAC in Quad-Balanced operation, which converts digital music signals into analog music signals. For music sources, USB, coaxial and optical digital inputs, MCT, and HDMI ARC are available, among others.
Phono for MC and MM
For turntables, the MAC7200 offers separate inputs for Moving Coil and Moving Magnet cartridges. The MC input has an adjustable load adjustment, while the MM input operates with a fixed load. This allows a turntable to be directly integrated into the system without the need to connect a separate phono preamplifier.
Technologies of the MAC7200
The MAC7200 combines pioneering McIntosh proprietary developments such as the Autoformer™, Power Guard®, Sentry Monitor™, and Monogrammed Heatsinks™. For maximum flexibility and first-class sound, it also features Home Theater PassThru, the High Drive Headphone Amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD®), and precise bass and treble tone controls.
The digital section is future-proofed with the DA2 Digital Audio Module and a Quad Balanced DAC. Thanks to comprehensive connectivity – including HDMI (ARC), MCT, USB Audio, and support for PCM, DSD, DXD, and the "Roon Tested" certification – this equipment forms the foundation for uncompromising use as an audiophile 2-channel stereo receiver.
TV Sound via HDMI ARC
The HDMI ARC input is designed for the audio return channel of a compatible TV. It plays TV sound through the connected audio system.
Headphones, Operation, and System Integration
The High Drive headphone amplifier with HXD® complements the MAC7200. For operation, a front display, tone control, presets, a supplied remote control, RS232, IR input, data ports, and power control connections are available. Home Theater PassThru also allows integration into a multi-channel home theater system.
McIntosh Design with Functional Heat Dissipation
The black glass front, blue wattmeters, aluminum end caps, control knobs, and illuminated logo characterize the classic McIntosh appearance. The Monogrammed Heatsinks™ not only add a visual accent but also serve for heat dissipation.
