True Mono Playback for Maximum Authenticity
The
MC Quintet Mono was specifically designed for microgroove mono records and
reads their information exclusively in the horizontal plane – exactly
as the groove was cut. Its elliptical, naked diamond (8/18
µm) ensures that even aged, worn, or slightly damaged
mono records are played back cleanly and with control, without excessive
background noise.
Mono Signal on Both Outputs – Full
Compatibility
With the Quintet Mono, the two coils
are electrically connected. This means the cartridge delivers an identical
mono signal to both contacts, allowing any stereo phono stage to be used
– without a mono switch on the amplifier. Perfect for hi-fi systems
that do not have a dedicated mono input.
Stable
PC/Aluminum Housing and Optimized Coil Technology
The housing consists
of a PC/aluminum combination that effectively dampens resonances. A
neodymium magnet system ensures precise output voltage, while the
low internal resistance (5 ohms) makes the system insensitive to
termination impedances. The high-purity silver coil wire used
increases transparency and dynamics.
Warm, Open, and
Dynamic Sound Signature
The Quintet Mono delivers a
musical blend of openness, spaciousness in the mono image, and a slightly
warmer basic tuning. Voices, acoustic instruments, and older recordings
benefit from the gentle contour and superior noise reduction for
surface defects.
Easy Installation and Precise
Adjustment
The clear housing shape, visible stylus, and
integrated threaded holes simplify installation. Thanks to generous
ground clearance, the cartridge can be easily mounted and fine-tuned
even on older or flat headshells.
