The McIntosh MX124 A/V Processor is designed for home theater installations where picture, sound, and operation converge. It processes immersive 13.4-channel multi-channel setups, making it suitable for demanding speaker configurations such as 7.4.6 or 9.4.4. Four dedicated subwoofer outputs allow for particularly flexible bass integration in the room.

Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Sony 360 Reality Audio, MPEG-H Audio, and IMAX Enhanced provide the foundation for a spatial listening experience, where effects, voices, and atmosphere can be precisely placed in the home theater. Bass and treble control, as well as a 9-band equalizer, allow for adjustment to personal listening preferences.
Room correction with Dirac Live and Audyssey
The MX124 offers Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control including licenses, as well as Audyssey MultEQ XT32. Room correction analyzes the acoustic conditions and helps to optimize speakers and subwoofers for the listening room.
HDMI for modern video sources
With 7 HDMI inputs and 3 HDMI outputs, the MX124 is designed for extensive home theater setups. Supported features include 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz, eARC/ARC, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG. Two HDMI outputs serve the main video zone, the third HDMI output enables a second video zone.
Streaming and music throughout the home
In addition to home theater, the MX124 can also be used as a high-quality music hub. Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, and Roon Ready are integrated. Additionally, the built-in Bluetooth transmitter allows connection to Bluetooth headphones.

Operation is via the front panel, remote control, on-screen menu, web GUI, and compatible network and streaming functions. For custom installations, the MX124 offers Control4 certification, RS232 control, IP control, backup/restore support, and pre-configuration via file upload.
