Precise, stable rotational speed and powerful drive torque

The SL-1500C is on par with Technics' larger turntable models in terms of audiophile sound quality. It is based on a single-rotor direct drive motor, the stator of which does not require iron cores. Unwanted irregularities in rotation caused by so-called cogging are thus avoided in principle. The driving force of the rotor magnets of this motor has been exploited to the utmost. As an essential component for avoiding vibrations, the chassis of the SL-1500C has a housing structure similar to high-end turntables. The aluminum die-cast chassis is connected to a construction made of ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer) plastic, which is stiffened with glass fibers. The resulting two-layer construction offers the highest level of rigidity and vibration damping. The isolator consists of a spring and rubber for optimal vibration damping. In addition, reliability has been improved by using a removable power cable and gold-plated connectors for the phono and line connections. The result is a reproduction of music in its full beauty and authenticity.

Phono equalization for easy connection to various components

The SL-1500C has a built-in, high-quality phono equalizer for MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge systems and can therefore be easily connected to audio devices that do not have a phono input. The separate power supply for the phono equalization is decoupled from the power supply for the motor and control circuit to prevent noise interference. The shielded structure of the power supply prevents external interference. The result is undisturbed signal amplification. A pair of unequalized outputs also allows the SL-1500C to be connected to amplifiers that have a phono input. All these measures guarantee unadulterated enjoyment of music. The same applies to the supplied universal headshell of the SL-1500C and the perfectly adjusted MM cartridge system Ortofon 2M RED. The tonearm height can be varied in a range of 6 mm to adapt to a variety of cartridges. The included additional weight allows the use of cartridges with a weight of 14.3 to 25.1 g (including headshell).

Automatic end shut-off

As soon as the tonearm reaches the inner end of the record, the auto-lift raises the tonearm. This avoids unnecessary wear on both your valuable records and the cartridge and increases operating comfort. By embedding the auto-lifter function in the tonearm base, impacts on the tonearm are avoided. This function can be switched off if required.

The SL-1500C is characterized by a simple, elegant design. At the same time, however, it offers the full operating feel that distinguishes all Technics products. The attractive exterior thus visually enhances the high musical enjoyment to the maximum.
