Coreless Direct Drive Motor
The SL-40CBT uses the same coreless direct drive technology as the higher-end SL-1500C and SL-1200MK7 models.
The motor is a 12-pole, 9-coil, three-phase brushless DC motor, offering exceptional speed precision and extremely low noise.
Precise Motor Control
Sophisticated control electronics ensure constant rotational speed – crucial for stable pitch and timing, especially with classical music, jazz, and live recordings.
Integrated Phono Preamplifier
The high-quality MM phono preamplifier is housed in a shielded enclosure to minimize external interference. The circuit is optimally matched to the included Audio Technica AT-VM95C cartridge and delivers balanced frequency response and dynamic sound. At the same time, it is compatible with most MM cartridges, allowing for easy upgrades.
Short Signal Path for Clean Sound
By directly integrating the phono stage into the turntable, the signal path from the cartridge to the output remains short, reducing signal loss and interference – for clear, detailed sound even at low volumes.
