SVS SoundPath Speaker Level Subwoofer Adapter for Active Subwoofers
Subwoofer Connection without Subwoofer Output
Many integrated amplifiers and older stereo receivers do not have a separate subwoofer output or line-level output. This adapter bridges that gap and makes it possible to safely integrate an active subwoofer via the amplifier's speaker outputs.
What does a Speaker-Level-to-Line-Level Adapter do?
A speaker output delivers a significantly stronger signal than the RCA/line-level input of an active subwoofer requires. The SVS SoundPath Speaker Level Subwoofer Adapter lowers this voltage and outputs it as an RCA line-level signal. This provides the subwoofer with an appropriate input signal without significantly burdening the speaker amplifier.
Easy Connection with Speaker Cable and RCA Cable
On the input side, gold-plated 5-way speaker terminals are available. They accept bare wires, banana plugs, and spade connectors. On the output side, gold-plated stereo RCA jacks connect the adapter to the active subwoofer's line-level inputs.
Important Note on Differential Amplifiers
The adapter is not generally recommended for differential amplifiers. These types of amplifiers are rare; if unsure, it should be checked before connecting whether the existing device is compatible.
