App Control via Bluetooth
The ELAC Varro PS250 is an active 10-inch subwoofer controlled by the ELAC Sub Control 3.0 App for iOS and Android.
Automatic Room Calibration (Auto EQ)
Automatic room calibration uses the Sub Control 3.0 app and the smartphone's microphone. Auto EQ measures the range from 20 to 200 Hz with 1 Hz resolution, calculates 16 filter coefficients, and compensates for deviations in the room. This provides more freedom in placing the subwoofer, even if classic placements are not acoustically ideal.
Multiple Subwoofers Controllable Simultaneously
The app can control several compatible subwoofers simultaneously. This is a central feature of the Varro series and simplifies setups with two or more subwoofers.
BASH Amplifier Technology
The ELAC Varro PS250 uses a BASH amplifier. This technology combines a conventional Class AB amplifier concept with a tracked switching power supply that only provides the voltage currently required. This results in low heat loss, and high levels can be efficiently delivered.
Dual-Core 28-Bit DSP
Signal processing is handled by a dual-core 28-bit DSP with a 147 MHz clock rate. The incoming audio signal is thus processed precisely and with low latency.
Firmware Updates via USB
Firmware updates are installed via the USB port on the back. A USB 2.0 stick with 512-byte sector size and FAT32 format is required; other file systems such as exFAT or NTFS are not compatible.
Factory Reset Function
A factory reset is triggered via the reset button. All data is deleted, and firmware and parameters are reset to factory settings; a firmware update may be required afterward.
Optionally Usable Spikes for Carpeted Floors
Four spikes are included for carpeted floors. On hard floors, either spike washers should be used, or the spikes should not be installed; washers are not included.
High-Excursion Driver
The ELAC Varro PS250 uses a high-excursion driver. The light, treated paper cone is designed for high excursion.
2" Voice Coil
A 2-inch/50mm voice coil is installed.
Ceramic Magnet
A ceramic grade 5 magnet is used for the drive.
Internal Bracing
Internal bracing or bracing frames are used in the enclosure. They serve to minimize unwanted cabinet resonances.
Bass Reflex Design
The ELAC Varro PS250 is built as a bass reflex subwoofer.
10-inch Driver
A 10-inch/250mm driver is used in the ELAC Varro PS250.
