The McIntosh WS500 In-Wall Loudspeaker is a built-in speaker for individual installations in HiFi and home cinema environments. It is suitable for classic 2-channel music playback as well as for home cinema setups, where it can be used as a front, center or surround speaker.

For home cinema, stereo and distributed audio playback

The WS500 is designed for applications where speakers are acoustically present, but visually as discreet as possible. In distributed audio systems, in the living room or in the home cinema, it can be flexibly planned and can be combined with McIntosh MI128 or MI254 distribution amplifiers. In home cinema installations, it also matches McIntosh A/V processors and multi-channel amplifiers.

Enclosure for controlled conditions

The fully enclosed construction creates a defined air chamber within the wall. This is particularly important because a built-in speaker would otherwise be heavily dependent on the respective wall construction. With the WS500, the enclosed design supports controlled playback and helps to reduce distortion and irregularities in the frequency response.

3-way design with McIntosh MTM speaker arrangement

The WS500 is designed as a 3-way speaker and works with two woofers, two mid-range drivers and a tweeter. The flat woofer unit allows installation in standard 2x4 wall constructions.

Subtle appearance with magnetic, paintable grille

The magnetically attached metal grille is easy to remove and is paintable. This allows the visible front to be matched to the wall color. The low micro-flange design ensures that the speaker appears very discreet visually after installation.

Tonally matching combinations within the McIntosh built-in series

The WS500 is tonally matched to the WS300 in-wall speaker and the CS200 in-ceiling speaker. This allows an installation to be planned where wall and ceiling speakers acoustically match and create a harmonious overall picture.
