Description
Elaborate Driver Arrangement for Spatial Reproduction
The XR100 uses multiple midrange drivers, a tweeter, and four woofers. The special arrangement of the upper drivers supports precise imaging and stable spatial representation. The woofers utilize McIntosh LD/HP® technology, which is designed for reduced distortion and high power handling.
Passive Loudspeaker for Powerful Amplifiers
As a passive loudspeaker, the McIntosh XR100 requires a suitable external amplifier. The minimum amplifier power is 75 watts. Our recommendation: The choice of amplifier should carefully match the system and the desired listening behavior so that the loudspeaker can unleash its potential in a controlled manner. As specialist retailers, we are happy to help if needed.
Sleek Enclosure with a High-Quality Feel
The enclosure appears modern and understated, yet remains clearly recognizable as a McIntosh loudspeaker. The high-gloss wood finishes, the magnetically attached black front grille, and the illuminated McIntosh logo on the front give the XR100 a present, but not obtrusive appearance. The front grille is acoustically considered and should remain mounted for the best possible playback.
Connections
The speaker cables are attached via gold-plated McIntosh Solid Cinch™ speaker terminals. Two sets of terminals allow for bi-wiring and bi-amping. Additionally, there are power control connections through which the McIntosh front logo can be illuminated in conjunction with suitable McIntosh components.
Placement in the Living Space
The XR100 has significant weight and should be placed securely. Spikes and furniture glides are included and can be individually adjusted to compensate for uneven floors or to adjust alignment. Overall, the loudspeaker was developed for large rooms. We recommend rooms of at least 30 square meters.
