With the Smart Townus 8, we present the newest member of our large Smart family. In the same design as the passive Townus models, the smart version with its comprehensive features and the best technical ingredients will inspire enthusiasm. The Smart Townus 8 scores with its timeless elegance, superior build quality, and of course, its excellent sound characteristics. This makes the slim Smart Townus 8 floorstanding speakers the ideal partner for anyone looking for speakers that are visually understated but acoustically set the standard. The fully active Smart Townus 8 are equipped with powerful amplifiers, providing each floorstanding speaker with 350 watts of power. This eliminates the need for external power amplifiers and speaker cables. Simply place them in the desired location, connect the power cable and source device, and you can start enjoying music in your home. The wireless signal transmission with 24-bit signal processing between the speakers ensures the highest quality music playback.

Convenient Connection

Our Smart Townus 8 makes it easy for you: you can connect whatever your HiFi heart desires to the numerous inputs. Analog connections are available in high-quality XLR and Cinch versions, in addition to digital variants in optical and coaxial designs. A USB input with XMOS enables connection to computers, and of course, our Smart Townus 8 can wirelessly stream music in the best quality via Bluetooth with aptX. To help you start music playback immediately at home, we include a selection of cables. Thanks to the smart features of the Smart Townus 8, you can expand the floorstanding speakers with additional Smart speakers from Canton – for example, with the compact Smart Townus 2. This way, you can build a powerful home cinema set in single-room operation or integrate your Smart Townus 8 as an excellent-sounding member in a multiroom system.

Excellent Components

The elegant Smart Townus 8 impresses with excellent sound performance in all situations. To achieve this, we use two powerful woofers with 154mm double-cone titanium diaphragms in an optimally dimensioned cabinet volume. These bass specialists are complemented by a 154mm midrange driver and the finely resolving tweeter with 25mm aluminum oxide ceramic and a transmission front plate for excellent dispersion. The speaker quartet is powered by a precisely tuned Class-D amplifier with 350 watts of power per speaker. Our Wave Sicke technology, the very solidly built cabinets with internal bracing, and the strategically placed damping material keep sound-damaging resonances away from these speakers. Not only a visual highlight, the screwless diamond-cut aluminum rings of the drivers used also increase the stability of the high, mid, and low-frequency drivers.

Soloist and Team Player

The Smart Townus 8 can be used, quite classically, as stereo speakers and combined at will with other speakers from the Canton Smart family. This quickly creates a 4.0 home cinema system that requires no cabling. The center channel is virtually generated, with precise dialogue reproduction and the best speech intelligibility from the center. Canton's stiff titanium double-cone diaphragms not only provide a clean look but also guarantee dynamic bass reproduction with the highest precision and best timing. With the Smart Connect 5.1, you can expand your system almost as you wish: Make your Smart Townus 8 the main speaker of a multi-channel surround system and supplement them with additional speakers from our Smart series. This way, you can gradually build your personal home cinema up to a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos configuration – for impressive film sound from all directions.
